Sloan has an opening for a Senior Talent Development Specialist reporting to the Director of Talent Development at our Chicago-area location. This is an exciting opportunity to join a Great Place To Work-Certified™ employer committed to employee growth, development, and an inclusive workplace culture.The Senior Talent Development Specialist plays a key role in designing and delivering talent and learning solutions that strengthen leadership capability, support employee development, and advance Sloan’s business priorities and culture. This individual will partner with leaders, HR Business Partners, and other key stakeholders to identify development needs and translate them into engaging, practical, and impactful solutions.The role will lead and support enterprise learning programs, leadership development initiatives, talent and performance processes, and other employee development efforts across the organization. It will also provide oversight and support for Sloan’s Employee Business Groups, helping ensure they remain aligned with organizational priorities and contribute to an inclusive and engaging employee experience.

 

 

 Job and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, facilitate, and evaluate high-impact learning and development programs for employees and leaders across the organization.
  •  Partner with business leaders and HR Business Partners to assess development needs and recommend learning and talent solutions aligned with business priorities.
  • Lead and support leadership development initiatives, including workshops, cohort based programs, learning labs, and other development experiences. 
  • Facilitate engaging learning experiences for audiences ranging from individual contributors to people leaders and senior leaders. 
  • Design instructor-led, virtual, blended, and digital learning experiences using adult learning and instructional design principles. 
  • Own assigned learning and talent programs from initial concept and design through implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement 
  • Support enterprise talent initiatives, including performance management, employee development planning, competency development, talent reviews, and succession planning. 
  • Partner with leaders and employees to translate development needs into meaningful goals, experiences, and development actions. 
  • Develop high-quality learning resources, facilitator guides, toolkits, job aids, communications, and other materials that enable learning and development across the organization.
  • Establish measures of program effectiveness and leverage participant feedback, learning data, and business insights to evaluate impact and continuously improve programs.
  • Leverage the Learning Management System and other learning technologies to support effective delivery, administration, tracking, and reporting of development programs.
  • Research emerging trends and best practices in leadership development, talent management, learning technology, and employee development and recommend opportunities to enhance Sloan’s talent practices.
  • Manage relationships with external learning partners and vendors, as appropriate, including evaluating solutions, coordinating deliverables, and monitoring quality and effectiveness. 
  • Partner across HR and the business to support organizational change through learning, communication, and leader enablement. 
  • Provide oversight and guidance for Sloan’s Employee Business Groups (EBGs), partnering with EBG leaders to support effective programming, engagement, governance, and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Contribute to initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, inclusion, culture, and the overall employee experience. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, driving work from concept through implementation while effectively managing stakeholders, timelines, priorities, and deliverables. 
  • Serve as a trusted Talent Development partner by building strong relationships, demonstrating sound judgment, and proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen organizational and leadership capability. 
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Learning & Development, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5+ Years of progressive experience in talent development, learning and development, organizational development, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and facilitating learning programs for professional and/or leadership audiences. 
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and build credibility with audiences at multiple organizational levels. 
  • Experience applying adult learning and instructional design principles to create effective learning experiences. 
  • Experience supporting leadership development, performance management, employee development, talent management, or related HR processes. 
  • Strong consulting and relationship-management skills, with the ability to identify needs, influence stakeholders, and translate business challenges into practical talent solutions. 
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead projects and programs from concept through execution. 
  • Excellent project and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. 
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and active-listening skills.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and feedback to evaluate effectiveness and recommend improvements 
  • Demonstrated initiative, creativity, adaptability, and sound judgment in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships and work effectively across functions, locations, and organizational levels. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace and working effectively with diverse employee populations.

  Compensation:

The compensation range for this U.S.-based position is $92,250- $102,500 annually.

This position is eligible to participate in the company incentive plan. The terms and conditions of the company incentive plan will be provided to plan participants on an annual basis. 

Our compensation range reflects our good faith estimate of what an ideal candidate can expect, but final agreed-upon compensation will always be based on the individual candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and other job-related or market factors that may prove relevant during the hiring process.
