Sloan has an immediate opening for Regional Sales Manager for our Mid-Atlantic territory. The territory includes  New York (Manhattan), New Jersey, Washington DC, and Philadelphia. In this role you will plan, administer, and organize the activities of a regional independent sales force to meet and exceed profitable sales and earnings objectives. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Direct on-going market analysis by obtaining intelligence through multiple sources such as sales team, customers and trade focus. Develop and implement regional strategies. Translate corporate objectives into regional and territory sales plans. Recognize trends, create strategies and develop regional vision to increase sales and obtain market share.
  • Develop advanced selling, communication and territory management skills in sales representatives. Assesses team members’ skill level through development plans, annual objective setting and performance evaluations and routinely provide timely and appropriate feedback to strengthen individual performances.
  • Drive accountability for plans and actions that build the Sloan brand and representatives within the selling region. Proactively provide feedback and recommendations to other Sloan functions such as marketing, distribution and engineering. Actively collaborate with these functions to ensure coordination with strategic regional selling plans.
  • Achieve annual revenue and margin plans. Create and manage budgets (expense, co-op and promotions) to annual plan.
  • Establish and maintain top level contact with the management of existing and potential customers, dealers and/or distributors. Measure and monitor the effectiveness of all programs implemented & managed for all channels. This includes pricing, distributor/dealer programs, product introductions, & management of channel conflict.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in sales, business or related discipline
  • 5+ Years successful territory management experience leading independent distributors.
  • 6+ Years industrial sales experience with documented examples of closing targeted customers and/or projects.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%.
  • Demonstrated history of success in growing a territory, as well as the ability to build a team and deliver tangible results in an intense environment.
  • Extensive experience with long-term and short-term strategic planning, sales forecasting and budgeting.
  • Flexible team player with ability to multi-task, function in a fast-paced environment under significant time pressure and successfully meet deadlines.
  • Formal presentation skills.
  • Highly developed critical thinking skills; ability to identify strategic trends.
  • Must have a strong fundamental management skills such as business acumen, leadership skills, negotiation skills, conceptual and analytical skills, extensive product knowledge, financial aptitude, interpersonal effectiveness and decisiveness.
  • Must possess strong computer skills with an ability to learn new systems and tools quickly.
  • Organized, disciplined and a self-starter.

At Sloan , we recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our success as a company.  Our compensation range reflects our good faith estimate of what an ideal candidate can expect, but final agreed upon compensation will always be based on the individual candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and other job-related or market factors that may prove relevant during the hiring process.

 

The compensation range for this U.S.-based position is $141,300 - $161,800 nnually.

This position is eligible to participate in the company incentive plan(s). The terms and conditions of the company incentive plan(s) will be provided to plan participants on an annual basis.
