About the role:

 

The Manufacturing Engineer II is located out of our Franklin Park, IL location and reports to the Manager Value Stream I, Tool Room. The Manufacturing Engineer II performs functions to develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes to manufacture the company product lines economically and efficiently.

 

What you'll do:

 

  • Develop the entire CNC machining processes for parts: including the creation of setup sheets, tool preset drawings, tool holder selection, cutting tool selection
  • Program 2 & 3 Axis CNC Equipment. Write new programs from scratch to produce new parts to print
  • Troubleshoot CNC Machining tolerance issues, program issues, setup issues, and other manufacturing quality related issue with setup and operators on the manufacturing floor.
  • Responsible for continuous process improvement tracked by quality yields and standard labor costs.
  • Analyze, review and optimize existing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency using LEAN manufacturing techniques
  • Determine and establish overall manufacturing engineering requirements for items such as, but not limited, to machinery, equipment, tooling, manufacturing methods and processes, and routings
  • Prepare routings, process sheets, work instructions, and process drawings as required and establish feeds, speeds, cycle times and other operating parameters for all types of equipment
  • Train supervisors, group leaders and operators in any new processes or products.
  • Identify and mitigate safety hazards throughout the facility
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

 

What you'll need:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ Years Manufacturing experience
  • 5+ Years Manufacturing/industrial engineering
  • 5+ Years CNC Programming & Troubleshooting Skills
  • Organizational skills with ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
  • Ability to trouble shoot problems with production process parts, and equipment
  • Critical thinking and analytical proficiency.
  • Demonstrates clear, professional, and respectful verbal and written communication in all interactions, consistent with an inclusive work environment.
  • Must possess the ability to collaborate with co-workers, production personnel, and outside vendors

 

A plus, but not required: 

 

  • Lean Manufacturing
  • Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB)
  • CNC Programming Certificate
  • Advanced level experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Creo/ Solidworks experience
  • Advanced Measuring and Metrology skills
  • General experience working with SAP ERP Business System.

  Compensation:

The compensation range for this U.S.-based position is $96,549.60-$113,780.88 annually.

This position is eligible to participate in the company incentive plan. The terms and conditions of the company incentive  plan will be provided to plan participants on an annual basis.

Our compensation range reflects our good faith estimate of what an ideal candidate can expect, but final agreed upon compensation will always be based on the individual candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and other job-related or market factors that may prove relevant during the hiring process.
