The Vice President of Sustainability position leads global governance, processes and systems to ensure the company is leading the industry in its socio-economic systems toward sustainability, & WELL standards. This position is also responsible for developing the company’s corporate social responsibility strategy, implementing programs to drive citizenship performance within the company and elevating Sloan Valve Company’s profile as a leading corporate citizen.  This also includes ensuring the company is leading in ESG, GHG and other relevant global standards related to sustainability.  

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement strategies for achieving global sustainability goals throughout the enterprise.
  • Define, standardize, and track progress of global sustainability goals and milestones.
  • Develop new concepts or methods related to environmental matters in order to improve environmental performance and compliance.
  • Develop and manage all resources to support sustainability programs as needed (e.g., budget, agency support, team support, etc.).
  • Develop a Corporate Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) report that illustrates sustainability success, support validation of claims and progress towards goals.
  • Develop and lead corporate GHG emission reduction programs.
  • Work with the global business units to assist their sustainability integration. Co-develop a marketing strategy for communication of Sloan's Global Sustainability Program. Partner with Sloan's New Product Development Team as advocate for clean tech design, design for the environment and Life Cycle Assessments.
  • Develop and help implement a strategy for greening Sloan’s operations, supply chain and partners. Create, implement and manage the Sloan sustainability teams.
  • Company liaison for the United States Green Building Council, International WELL Building Institute, and other company supported sustainable and wellness organizations.  
  • Identify and participate in key local & national sustainability & wellness groups, conferences, networking opportunities and customer opportunities
  • Provide LEED and WELL guidance for internal and external stakeholders

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, engineering or related science degree
  • 10+ years of sustainability and/or environmental health experience in corporate and manufacturing environments
  • Corporate sustainability and/or environmental management experience with a multi-plant company
  • Direct experience creating, implementing and managing sustainability programs
  • Demonstrated successful leadership and guidance of environmental management programs
