We have an immediate need for a Vice President of Product Management & Marketing at our global Corporate Heaquarters in Franklin Park, IL. This position reports directly to the Chief Sales & Marketing Officer and will be responsible for leading, developing and executing a clearly defined marketing strategy in a manner that supports consistent and measurable business growth. The VP will "sit at the sales, customer experience and marketing management team table" to assist in the formulation and execution of the company's strategic direction. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, training and managing all global marketing functions (4Ps - Product, price, placement/channel and promotion) to achieve Sloan's objectives for sales, growth, profitability, and visibility in the marketplace; in alignment with the company's strategic direction. Key responsibility is leading and driving product development via product management function. Will also be responsible for leading the strategic planning process with VP/C-suite team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key and active member of the management operating team. Provide leadership for the development of global strategic marketing plans including objectives and strategy for targeted markets
  • Lead product management team to drive efforts with product and global business development to define an overall product portfolio strategy, multi-generation product plans (MGPP), that will drive the long term growth of the organization. Ensure the development of all strategic product roadmaps and corresponding marketing plans
  • Lead the process for the continuous evaluation of trends and adjust strategy to capitalize on shifts in the marketplace; including the process of obtaining and disseminating competitive intelligence across all markets and product lines
  • Develop marketing and sales promotion programs and direct marcom team in developing promotional material including managing website, social media, video, collaterals, etc.
  • Monitor business metrics in regard to revenues, profitability, market share and product portfolio mix. Provides on-going communication of these metrics to the senior management team
  • Collaborate with Sales, channel partners, and reps to define effective sales channels of all products and establish effective relationship with the sales force for leadership, training, pricing, and positioning expertise. Develop ecommerce and alternative channels to drive growth.
  • Develop and provide leadership for a data driven high performing product and vertical market management teams to drive the execution of strategic marketing plans for meeting Sloan's overall business objectives
  • Lead and develop pricing programs, quote management, and pricing analytics to drive profitable growth across global teams.
  • Establish metrics for the measurement of marketing program effectiveness. Develop and manage the marketing budget. Responsible (in collaboration with sales) for the development of the company's revenue forecast
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years in a senior marketing leadership position as VP or Director with durable goods experience, preferably with two step distribution process in building products/construction industry.
  • Must have Bachelor degree in Engineering or business or equivalent, preferably with MBA or masters in finance.
  • Background working in a middle market organization with increasing responsibility is a plus with strong financial acumen.
  • Must have experience as product manager in previous roles with strategic planning background
  • Experience in channel management, pricing and marcom, preferably with experienced in digital marketing and experiential marketing
  • Proven success and track record as an individual contributor and manager who has grown top and bottom line results
  • Demonstrated working experience with sales team and customer support organization, preferably some experience in sales position.
  • High level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness with strong work ethic and the ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills
  • Strategic, critical thinker, with an innovative spirit, strong business sense and excellent financial skills
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to lead, create and work within cross-functional team environments
  • Strong data driven, using best practices in market research and analysis to formulate and measure marketing programs
