We have an immediate need for an SAP FICO Business Analyst based out of our Franklin Park or downtown Chicago location. The SAP FICO Business Analyst is the “Face of IT” to the Finance department, driving the business value of IT & managing strategic business demand. This IT professional also provides leadership and support for the ongoing development and improvement of best in class financial business processes and leverages new and existing system and tools to enable those processes. This role Interacts directly with Business Stakeholders, IT Management, and technical staff to identify requirements, develop business cases and lead/implement projects or enhancements to financial business systems and processes. May supervise consultants and contractors.
Responsibilities:
- General ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, balance sheets, P&L statements, and costing duties.
- Configures systems such as SAP to ensure the system meets the needs of the user and the overarching business process.
- Ensures transaction appropriateness and integrity while also ensuring the appropriateness of access security.
- Documents as-is business processes via flow charts and similar tools.
- Ensures that documentation of all work done is sufficient to ensure efficient business continuance should personal changes occur.
- Assesses business needs resulting from as-is business process analysis and how improved business processes, support systems, and technology can improve them.
- Constantly works with users to continuously improve or reengineer business processes for competitive advantage.
- Develops a business case defining the needs, costs, return-on-investment, and measurements for business and technology change.
- Serves as a focal point and primary liaison with the CIO on all the business systems strategies and tasks planned and coordinated by the Information Technology Department.
- Provide supporting end user instructions as new processes or features are deployed to the end users.
- Develops security profiles and authorizations.
- Ensure that what is authorized by one manager does not compromise security for others.
- Essentially, provides a process view of the system and security. Works with Power Users to ensure security developed and deployed meets user needs.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field.
- 4+ years' experience with SAP ECC or S/4 Hana working in area of financials or controlling.
- 4+ years accounting experience in GL, AP, AR, balance sheet, P&L and costing (experience can offset SAP configuration experience as long as candidate is willing to learn SAP FICO configuration).
- Actively identifies problems and opportunities for change and implements solutions where appropriate.
- Actively listens to others and objectively considers others’ ideas and opinions, even when they conflict with one’s own.
- Critical thinking and analytical proficiency.
- Enjoys working in a team environment.
- General experience working with SAP ERP Business System.
- Proficient level experience working with SAP ERP Business System.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in a related field.
- 1+ years’ experience working with Vistex, sales or use tax applications, India GST, or credit cards.
- 2+ years’ experience configuring SAP ECC or S/4 Hana in area of financials or controlling.
- User must be open to learning SAP FICO configuration and incorporating into the job role.
- Able to plan, organize, and schedule individual and group work assignments.
- Advanced level experience working with enterprise reporting tools.
- Advanced level experience working with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working with Excel formulas and tables.
- Flexible and adaptive to changing business needs.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Our compensation range reflects our good faith estimate of what an ideal candidate can expect, but final agreed upon compensation will always be based on the individual candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and other job-related or market factors that may prove relevant during the hiring process.
The compensation range for this U.S.-based position is $108,700 - $120,800 annually.
This position is eligible to participate in the company incentive plan(s). The terms and conditions of the company incentive plan(s) will be provided to plan participants on an annual basis.
