The Product Line Manager (Bathroom Accessories) is responsible for product strategy, development and marketing of product category (building architectural  products, such as sinks, commercial restroom accessories, decorative products, etc.).  Ensures the success of product category through managing the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision through voice of customer (VOC), working closely with Engineering and Operations to deliver profitable products, and leading cross functional teams to introduce new products to the marketplace.   Collaborates with sales, quality, customer service and technical support teams to ensure customer needs are met.  Ensures that product and marketing efforts are aligned with the company's strategic priorities. Work closely with sales team and reps to promote product in field and be visible as the product category leader. Depending on product category, responsible for driving profitable revenue that may range from $5 million to $100 million in revenue.

 

  • Define product strategy and roadmap; includes new product opportunity assessments and product enhancement recommendations, new product launch, promotion and develop strategies to gain market share. Lead development of nascent products with help of cross functional team.

  • Collects and communicates voice of the customer for product category to meet or exceed customer satisfaction goals and help develop new initiatives. Conducts and leverages customer/sales analysis, competitive analysis, industry insights, technology trends and other external influences in developing product strategy and roadmap. Reports to executive management on product performance, customer and market trends relating to product.

  • Achieve financial goals relating (P&L responsibility for the line up to gross margin level) to product revenue and margin that are aligned with the Company overarching financial goals; while managing expense budget. Develop strategic plans for product and vertical market category.

  • Leads New product development from ideation to launch and post launch field promotion with sales team. Develops and drives new product and market initiatives funnel.

  • Develops core positioning and messaging for product(s) that align with company Brand and positioning strategy Works closely with Marcomm team to craft the message.

  • Establishes pricing strategies to meet revenue and profitability goals.

  • Develops and implements marketing programs, promotions, sales support and communications material to support efforts in driving product demand.  Analyze and report the success/effectiveness of programs

  • Works collaboratively with engineering, finance, operations and supply chain to drive costs out.

  • Leads training of Sales team both virtually and in person on new products and supports sales team on key national account   

 

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, business, engineering, or related field; MBA preferred

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a product management role

  • Working knowledge of products in the building products industry is preferred.

  • Preferably experienced in marketing architectural or decorative products with focus on design.

  • Some sales or field experience is preferable

  • Knowledge of working with community of engineers, designers, and distributor partners is preferable

  • Strong analyitical skills with high level understand of business financials

  • Demonstrated use of effective financial, analytical, organizational and project management skills

  • Strong strategic thinking skills and the ability to turn strategy into action

  • Ability to work and influence at all levels within the organization

  • Strong decision-making ability and the ability to work in and build a team environment and lead cross functional team

  • Experience in planning and project managing complex product launches

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; including persuasion and negotiation skills

  • Up to 20% travel
