The Enterprise Security Manager for a company the size of Sloan plays an integral role in defining and assessing enterprise security strategy, architecture and practices. The position will be required to effectively translate business objectives and risk management strategies into specific security processes enabled by security technologies and services. The Enterprise Security Manager may be required, based on the overall size and available competencies within the security team, to assume responsibility for certain security functions that would normally be addressed by other roles in larger enterprises.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Develops and maintains a security process that enables the enterprise to develop and implement a secure environment that is aligned with business, technology and threat drivers.
  • Manages the staff and vendors to execute contracts and SLA's providing security services.
  • Validates IT infrastructure and other reference architectures for security best practices, and recommend changes to enhance security and reduce risk. Guidance on Security configurations for security infrastructure tools, including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPSs), web application firewalls (WAFs), anti-malware/endpoint protection systems.
  • Determines baseline security configuration standards for operating systems (e.g., operating system hardening), network segmentation, and identity and access management (IAM). Driving the process around the currency of the environment inclusive of patching, firmware and operating systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity or a related field.  certifications (or related job experience). The ideal candidate will maintain one or more of the following certifications.
    • Candidate maintains CISSP or similar type certification.
    • Seven years Direct, hands on experience managing security. SIEM and log management technology.
    • Documented experience with Regulations, Standards, and Frameworks. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), PCI-DSS.   
  • Experience with technical project management skills, ITIL processes.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team oriented, and the ability to provide service delivery over Security Operations staff vendors to support mission critical systems.
