We have an immediate need for a Director, Finance at Sloan's global headquarters in Franklin Park, IL. This position is responsible for maintaining and updating the organization's accounting system, including the general ledger, Accounts Receivable,  Accounts Payable and Fixed Assets.  The position ensures that management has up-to-date and accurate accounting information so that the financials  are accurate and reports and analysis are useful for management decision-making.  Provides support to other accounting functions as needed.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare general ledger transactions for parent company daily or as necessary. Maintain documentation of accounting processes. Maintain the integrity of the GL account set-up as well as cost centers.
  • Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements to  include Comparative Balance sheet, Income statement, Cash Flow and EBITDA and provide variance analysis.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations and analysis for both Balance Sheet & Income Statement accounts. Post payroll on a weekly basis as well as provide detailed inter-company documentation to Subsidiary Company.
  • Prepare supporting schedule for the budgeting process. Prepare year-end audit supporting schedules, tax supporting schedules & insurance schedules. Create documentation for preparation of tax provision.
  • Assist Deloitte in the preparation of required files & supporting documentation for filing all Corporate income tax returns. Prepare and file monthly tax reports for sales & use taxes. Prepare extensive Census & other Government required reports.
  • Prepare general ledger transactions from subsidiary domestic and international companies - record all in corporate ERP system for month end consolidations. Maintain FX exchange rates. Offset Mexico inter-co AR & AP. Implementation and maintenance of new Company set-up in SAP - the ERP system.
  • Prepare monthly reports for department accruals for CFO review and use.
  • Assist with all audits including federal income tax audits, sales and use tax audits and state income tax audits.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Understanding of general accounting principles and processes.
  • Ability to use discretion when working with confidential information.
  • Understanding of the Principals of Accounting, bank reconciliations, and account reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal Tax .
  • Strong problem solving and detail orientated.
  • Excellent analytical skills and an aptitude for numbers.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Organizational skills with ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with SAP desired.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills required.

 

Preferred Criterion:

 

  • Accounting Degree.
  • 10+ years experience preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
