Sloan is seeking to hire a Senior Project Manager to join our team in either Franklin Park, IL or Andover, MA.  The Senior Project Manager leads strategic programs & projects that support execution of our Innovation roadmaps & supporting our New Product Development strategies.  Supporting Engineering led development projects & platforms that may include both internal engineering teams and co-development activities with external third parties in addition to internal cross-functional teams.  Leading the Engineering team by supporting the development of Advanced Technology platforms and preparing those platforms for our New Product Stage Gate process.  Ensures timely and accurate completion of assigned duties and responsibilities of the team members to meet the Project/Platform deliverables and executive leadership expectations.  Leads and/or participates in managing platform implementation, scope, timelines, budgets, product quality and communicates the project and/or platform status, risk and issues associated.  Ensuring that strategic platforms & projects are achieved as defined, within budget, on time and delivering the expected result(s) that were outlined in the business objective & scope.


Location:  Note - This position can be based out of Franklin Park, IL or Andover, MA.



  • Leads cross functional and consultant/contractor team members assigned during the duration of a project to ensure timely & accurate completion of project deliverables.  This could potentially include the development of Statements of Work associated with 3rd party vendor/partners and consultants/contractors specific to the deliverables of the Project.
  • Leads activities required to complete project documents:  plan(s) & schedule(s), charter/structure, roles/responsibilities, scope, budget(s), project ROI including on-going operating costs and resource requirements.  Assisting in development of processes to support the transition between Platform work and our stage gate process.
  • Develops project cost estimates and overall budget for assigned projects.  Initiate potential cost control measure to ensure project budgets are met.
  • Communicates project status to team and stakeholders throughout the duration of the assignment and post implementation to make certain all impacted functional teams and stakeholders have an understanding of decisions, risks, issues, and activities related to the project.
  • Obtains appropriate level of approval for all project documentation to ensure appropriate understanding of expectations amongst all stakeholders.
  • Provides leadership, coaching and guidance on a continuous basis to other project team members in the areas of project lifecycle, operating procedures, processes, and practices. Ensuring that the Project Managment organization is consistent in their project management support.
  • Creates risk management plans to identify, analyze, monitor, and respond to risks associated with the project to ensure ability to achieve expected outcomes on time and on budget.
  • Review the operational and engineering aspects of the project to assure compliance with project objectives.  This includes participating in design reviews, project risk assessment, design FMEA, process FMEA, and other commercialization activities as required.



  • Undergraduate degree or comparable experience required.
  • 7+ years project management experience.
  • Demonstrates a high level of competence in interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Creates an environment that motivates, inspires and respects others.
  • Ability to build team cohesiveness and work cross functionally to achieve results.
  • Extremely high proven competence in organization and planning skills.
  • Ability to promote a shared vision and customer focus.
  • Experience with MS Office applications, including MS Project and Teams 


Preferred requirements:

  • Demonstrates critical thinking and business acumen, and should be familiar with multiple product development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams across multiple geographic locations and aligning the teams' focus on achieving the project or platform objective.
  • Able to deal with ambiguity & guide a team forward to complete project and/or program objective
  • Experience as a Project Manager, supporting the areas of engineering, hardware development, software development, mechanical and electronics development, a technical background, and successful new product commercialization experience.
  • PMP certification, relevant industry experience is a plus.
