We have an immediate opening for a Quality Assurance Manager based in our Augusta, Arkansas Foundry. In this role you will be responsible for the development, implementation and management of Quality systems, plans and policies at the foundry. You will have day-to-day management of Quality activities and interactions with departments departments within the facility, other company locations, and external customers to ensure products and processes comply to specifications, standards and requirements. These include local, state, national and international final product regulatory requirements, internal standards, external customer standard, and ISO9001 standards. Consistently promote continuous improvement of all processes toward improved quality performance and increasing customer satisfaction.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, direct and administer Quality programs, policies, procedures, standards, records and systems at the Augusta Facility
- Direct Quality Assurance day-to-day activities including but not limited to verification and conformance to print / process specification of manufactured and assembled parts along with parts/services performed by suppliers.
Report Quality KPI's to executive management, along with mfg. supervisors and hourly employees. Lead efforts to identify high impact reoccurring issues and effective corrective actions
Represent the Augusta facility at all quality audits performed by internal or external customers, as well as, third party regulatory organizations to ensure compliance to written standards
Other duties and responsibilities as required. - Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Suppliers & Technical Services to investigate customer quality complaints. Setup and perform experiments, inspections and analysis allowing for data driven decisions and corrective action. These include placing product on hold, recall and/or redesign of product or process.
- Develop, monitor and analyze customer returns, internal defects, test yields, scrap and other non-conforming conditions relating to product, process or systems followed by recommended corrective and preventative measures or actions
- Actively champion company-wide improvement activities to reduce waste, increase yield and improve customer satisfaction.
- Supervising and direct Quality Engineers, Inspectors and Lab Technicians engaged in Quality Assurance department work activities. Hire, train, review work, assist employees, evaluate performance, enforce company rules and recommend changes in employee status
- Coordinate product/process audits and facilitate compliance to system, product or process certification through third party regulatory organizations. Recommend corrective and preventative measures in response to non-conformances or discrepancies
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering /Technology
- Able to plan, organize, and schedule individual and group work assignments.
- Actively identifies problems and opportunities for change and implements solutions
- where appropriate.
- Analyzes information and uses logic to address work-related issues and problems.
- Critical thinking and analytical proficiency.
- Deals effectively with others in difficult situations; reducing tension or conflict between two or more people.
- Excellent analytical skills and an aptitude for numbers.
- Formulates clear decision criteria; evaluates options by considering implications and consequences; chooses an effective option.
- General experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Organizational skills with ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines.
- Travel up to 20%.
- Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.
