JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of a variety of different types of machine shop equipment. Supports manufacturing and facilities personal by using skills and abilities to fabricate, modify and repair a vast array of machines and components in a safe and timely manner. Performs economically feasible repairs to the greatest extent possible with stock or purchased parts and available tools.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up and operate a wide variety of manual and CNC machine tools and hand finishing operations on metal and urethane materials to be used as patterns and cores.
  • Determine operation sequence, draft and shrinkage allowances, location of cores, parting lines, gating, and core related needs working to very close tolerances.
  • Inspect and check pattern equipment for necessary repairs and replacements to maintain in proper condition as required.
  • Compute ratios to mix and pour plastic patterns.
  • Review trial sheets and sample castings and modify patterns as necessary.
  • Own and maintain tool box and necessary tools to measure tooling and set-up the various machines in Pattern Shop
  • Use a wide variety of precision measuring devices.
  • Perform scheduled alignment of mold machine.
  • Reverse engineer worn or broken machine parts of various machinery in house so as to keep production in operation.
  • Works in a safe and orderly manner at all times. Adheres to plant, department and area rules and regulations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
