The Lead Electro-Optics Engineer will be working with leadership to conceptualize our next generation product by leading a development team to simulate, design and build optical sensors, contributing to the technical architecture of electronic sensor or other sensors for new/existing products (including improvements exist products), leading the analysis and resolution of production issues. Develop optical sensor test protocols.  Design test fixtures and test procedures. Resolve quality and production electron-optical sensor issues. Train, develop and lead other engineers and technicians.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development team to simulate, design and build optical sensors, contributing to the technical architecture of electronic sensor or other sensors for new/existing products (including improvements on existing products).
  • Evaluate changes and deviations of existing products.
  • Maintain existing product documentation through ECAD and other engineering software.
  • Generate required engineering reports.
  • Create test protocols, test parts, and design test fixtures.
  • Develop new sensing techniques, research, and implementation of fixtures
  • Tester design and implementation to test incoming elements and components for production of new/existing products.
  • Lead, train and develop engineering staff and technicians.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in physics/optics or electrical engineering
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience of optical sensor design in various sensing environments
  • Sound knowledge and understanding and implementing multiple sensory techniques including ultrasound sensing and image sensing techniques
  • Working experience with sensor data processing and its algorithm design
  • Familiarity with MATLAB, ZeMax or similar platform to prove optical system design including lenses, light pipe, and optical window
  • Strong oral communications skills
  • Hands-on experience in prototype bring-up and debugging
