About The Role:
Sloan has an opening for an Electronic Hardware Engineer II in our Andover, MA facility, reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager.
This role is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing electronic hardware products. Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining product documentation, evaluating and improving existing hardware designs, developing test protocols, performing worst-case and failure analyses, executing engineering change orders, generating engineering reports, and providing guidance to technicians.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, develop, and implement board level design, simulation, and optimization of front end circuitry, schematics capture, PCB layout and component evaluation.
- Create hardware design description and block diagram as required.
- Use a combination of logic, experience, analysis and methodologies to make solid, timely decisions and solve problems. Including but not limited to worst case analysis and DFMEAs
- Plans and create effective test protocols to verify and validate engineering designs to product requirements
- Produce detailed engineering reports
- Produce component level test for new and existing products
- Design necessary verification firmware routine for peripheral function testes
- Process and execute ECNs
- Follow established document control procedures
- Work with internal and external resources on design optimization
- Support advance research
- Guide the work of technicians
- Other duties and responsibilities as required
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer engineering
- 4+ Years relative experience
- Capable of designing small embedded system hardware
- Experience developing PCB
- Experience using ICE tools in debugging peripheral driver
- Experience with circuit simulation
- Experience with capture schematics
- Experience with ECAD software
- Strong experience using lab equipment (Oscilloscope, function generator) and setting up test stand and prototyping
- Strong oral communication skills
- Working knowledge and growing expertise in embedded sensor development
A plus, but not required:
- Master's Degree in Electrical or Computer engineering
- Experience with IEC, UL, and EMC compliance testing
- Knowledge of IPC standard
- Working experience in ARM microcontroller
- Working experience using Althium
- Working experience with battery powered small embedded sensor system

Compensation:
The compensation range for this U.S.-based position is $110,970-$123,300 annually.
This position is eligible to participate in the company incentive plan. The terms and conditions of the company incentive plan will be provided to plan participants on an annual basis.
Our compensation range reflects our good faith estimate of what an ideal candidate can expect, but final agreed-upon compensation will always be based on the individual candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and other job-related or market factors that may prove relevant during the hiring process.
