We have an immediate need for a Senior Credit Analyst to join our Finance team, located at our global corporate headquarters in Franklin Park, IL. The Senior Credit Analyst is responsible for the overall status of accounts: includes assessing credit requests and producing a recommendation based on a variety of factors, collection, follow-up  and maintenance of customer accounts. Post/Process daily deposits in a timely and accurate manner, research payment discrepancies as well as duplicate deductions and payments.  Resolve credit card discrepancies where applicable. Back-up other Sr. Credit Analyst as well as provide assistance to Credit Manager in her absence and unavailability.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining overall status of accounts.  This includes daily follow-up, collections of accounts to monitor past due status, resolution of disputes that inhibit payments (i.e..dating, denied deductions, unearned cash discounts, etc.). Work aging reports to minimize past dues and bad debt. Monthly handling of customer statements. Review statements and oversee the issuance to Customer with applicable supporting documentation. Work with Customer, Sales Rep and Customer Service to maintain relationships to provide Customers with timely resolution. Handle & direct incoming calls. Account Maintenance: Update all account information such as address change, phone, fax, email, bill to, ship to, contact person and invoice delivery method.
  • Process and post daily lockbox /wire transfer deposits to the appropriate customer account with accuracy, ensuring proper research and reconciliation. Maintain working knowledge of Credit Card processes to resolve exception items. Execute month-end closing procedures.
  • Review & Release Credit Hold Orders daily (resolve issues that create credit hold). Continuous review  and adjustments of credit limits, risk category and changes that occur to inactivate or question selling status eligibility.
  • Analyze credit information from Credit Resource agencies, updated applications and bi-monthly report meetings. Make applicable adjustments to Customer accounts. Provide updated account status to reporting agencies.
  • Maintain effective lines of communication with Credit Manager, Regional Sales Managers and Sales Reps on credit and collection matters.
  • Back up to Credit Manager in her absence. Also serve as back-up to the accounts handled by the other Sr. Credit Analyst position with Cross-Training given and received to maintain a working knowledge.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required to maintain Credit, Collections and Accounts Receivable functions.

 

Requirements:

  • Must have completed at least an Associates Degree with minimum 3 years experience or minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing environment with direct Credit, Collection & Accounts Receivable experience. Accredited classes taken at National Association of Credit Management or equivalent and applicable seminars.
